This indeed gives me a most exciting feeling to extend a warm welcome to the very first intake of graduate girl students to the Biyani International Institute of Engineering and Technology in Rajasthan. BIIET is one another milestone from Biyani Group of Colleges, a fastest growing academic organization to nurture the ‘best value and talents’ of yours.
How we can satisfy the needs of a population that is growing exponentially? What should be done to ensure that the basic needs for water, sanitation, nutrition, healthcare, safety will be fulfilled and enhance the quality of life on the earth? The role of engineers will be critically important to fulfill these demands. Making solar energy economical, engineering better medicine and low-cost diagnostic tools, managing the nitrogen cycle, preventing nuclear terror, providing access to clean water are some of the grand challenges. However, how engineering students are being prepared to enter the ‘real world’? Transforming ‘Technopreneurship skill’ (a process of engineering the future of a person) in a research-enhanced environment will definitely open a world of possibilities for future engineers. Traditional and conventional university programs, however, lack the teaching methods to turn today’s students into creative, innovative, visionary global leaders. Therefore, it becomes very important to design an ‘interdisciplinary curriculum’ with an optimal mix of knowledge and engineering skills before we transform this to the young minds and build a sustainable society.
Aiming that Engineers have a collective responsibility to improve the lives of people, BIIET takes the initiative in promoting structural reforms of wide academic areas based on industry-academia collaborations and helping students to define and shape their career and let them realize their goals in an increasingly competitive world. Being a medical-scientist and bio-engineer, I set this as my target in this institute to educate and train future generations of scientists, engineers and technologists through developing collaboration agreements with leading universities and the private sector around the world. Via our recently developed prestigious relationship with the Saitama University in Japan and on-going agreements with University of Tokyo and University of Manchester, BIIET has set itself very high goals and aims to become one of the fastest and leading academic institutions in India. Our students and faculty will be critical to the achievement of this objective. A specially designed co-curriculum activities including subject-seminar, expert lectures, technical contests, industrial and research laboratory visits in each department will provide our students a practical training and placement guidelines.
We invite you to explore BIIET, both online and in person and welcome the opportunity to make excellence in research and education and to take part of our responsibility to the motherland that we are to serve by generating talented-engineers: critical thinkers and creative leaders to address the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow.
